Tuesday 10:00pm

Hello all, another beautiful day spent with my wife, it started out for me by catching up on the mornings activities from (Mimi), Leslie's mom. Mimi took over for me Monday night so I could spend the night with my daughter Beau, we had a great time by the way, good daddy daughter time, but Leslie by the time I arrived at the hospital had already seen her (PT) physical therapist, and (RT) recreational therapist for the first time of the days schedule, this really made her tiered . It was not long after I arrived that the treatment team came around to our room, this was a meeting we had been anticipating for the morning, the group consisted of several people, Leslie's doctors, head nurse, therapists, there were six of them. This was the time they set aside to go over with us our plan of action, Leslie's report card, and give us a chance to ask questions. All the comments from the doctors were very optimistic for Leslie's recovery, the report card basically went over all the things that I myself take for granted every day, things like brushing teeth, getting from one room to the other, fixing food, driving, the list goes on. Based on this list we put together goals and objectives for ourselves. On the second page there was a small but very important line that said length of stay, out beside it said 2 to 4 weeks and the line saying discharge date, it was blank ....., Leslie and I are prayerful for a short stay but we also want to be safe and ready when we leave. The second half of the day really had to be put on hold because of the pain problem we are having with Leslie's lower back, we met with a couple of different doctors today to discuss options for pain management, this will be necessary in order for Leslie to be able to concentrate on her therapy sessions, so we are looking forward to tomorrow to see what the doctors come up with. Leslie also is learning how to use her wheelchair, this has been difficult also because of the pain in her back, but I know once the pain is taken care of she will excel big time.

Once again your comments and prayer have been an incredible gift to our heart. We love you all very much.

PSALM 118:24
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

God bless JRP
